Booking
How do I book a Smart Limo Rental ride?
You can reserve online through our Book Now page, which uses our secure Limo Anywhere reservation system, or call (202) 609-9811 anytime. We're available 24/7. For tours and weddings we recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks ahead; for cherry blossom season, 4+ weeks ahead.
How far in advance should I book?
For airport transfers, 24-48 hours ahead is usually fine. For tours, weddings, and special events, book 1-4 weeks ahead. Cherry Blossom season (late March to mid April) and prom/graduation seasons fill up earliest. We recommend 4-6 weeks ahead during peak periods.
Can I make changes to my reservation?
Yes. Call us up to 24 hours before pickup and we'll adjust pickup time, dropoff, vehicle, or itinerary at no charge. Changes within 24 hours are accommodated when possible but may incur a fee.
Do you require a deposit?
For tours and special events we typically take a credit card on file at booking and charge the balance after the trip. Wedding bookings may require a partial deposit. We'll confirm the exact terms when you reserve.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 48+ hours before pickup are fully refundable. Within 48 hours, a partial cancellation fee applies. Within 6 hours of pickup, the full reservation amount is charged. Wedding and large-group bookings have separate terms confirmed at booking.
Tours
How long is a typical DC tour?
Our most popular tours are 3-4 hours. Half-day tours run 4-5 hours, full-day tours 7-8 hours, and combo tours (Mount Vernon + Arlington, Gettysburg) up to 10 hours. Custom itineraries can be any length. We charge by the hour.
Can I customize the tour itinerary?
Absolutely. Every tour we offer is fully customizable. Add stops, drop stops, change pickup time, extend duration. Just tell us your priorities and we'll plan around them. See our Customize Your Tour package for hourly custom planning.
Are tours private or shared with other groups?
All Smart Limo Rental tours are 100% private. The vehicle and chauffeur are exclusively yours for the booked duration. We do not run group tours or shared shuttles.
Can the chauffeur act as a tour guide?
Our chauffeurs are professional career drivers who know DC well and share key facts along the route, but they drive rather than guide. For in-depth narration we can add a dedicated tour guide who rides along and walks your group through each monument stop. It is $250 for the first 4 hours, then $62.50 an hour, on demand, and we recommend it for larger groups and corporate events. We confirm a guide's availability by phone or email when you request it.
What's the best tour for a first-time DC visitor?
For most first-timers, the 4-hour DC Monuments Tour or the Welcome to DC Half-Day tour covers the full monument circuit: 11 walk-up stops from the U.S. Capitol and the White House to the Lincoln Memorial, including the Washington Monument and the Tidal Basin and war memorials, with the chauffeur narrating more landmarks along the way. If you have a full day, the Welcome to DC Full Day adds Arlington National Cemetery, the Iwo Jima and Air Force memorials, and Georgetown.
Airport Transfers
Which DC-area airports do you serve?
All three: Reagan National (DCA), Dulles International (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI). We also serve Manassas Regional (HEF) and Leesburg Executive (JYO) for private aviation.
What if my flight is delayed?
We track every flight in real time using your flight number. If your flight is delayed, we adjust pickup automatically. No calls, no extra charge. Just send us your flight number when you book.
Will the chauffeur meet me inside the terminal?
Yes. We offer meet-and-greet service for all airports at no extra charge for international arrivals at IAD. The chauffeur waits at the international arrivals area with a name sign. For domestic arrivals at DCA/IAD/BWI, curbside pickup is standard, but we can do meet-and-greet on request.
How early should I be picked up for my outgoing flight?
For DCA: 90 minutes before domestic departure. For IAD or BWI: 2 hours for domestic, 3 hours for international. We add 15-30 minutes during DC rush hour. We'll recommend a specific pickup time based on your flight when you book.
Weddings & Events
What wedding services do you offer?
Bride and groom transport, bridal-party shuttles, parent and VIP guest transport, photo-stop tours between ceremony and reception, and getaway-car service. We can build a multi-vehicle plan for the whole wedding party. Decorated vehicles (just-married signs, ribbons) are included on request.
Do you do prom and graduation transport?
Yes. We offer stretch limousines, party buses, and Sprinter vans for prom, graduation, and quinceañera. Parents must sign a no-alcohol policy for under-21 passengers. We require all minors to be picked up and dropped off at residences (not bars or party venues).
Can you handle multi-vehicle corporate events?
Yes. We coordinate fleet bookings of 2-10+ vehicles for conferences, off-sites, embassy events, and corporate roadshows. A dedicated dispatcher manages all vehicles. Ask about our corporate account program for recurring needs.
Pricing & Policies
How is pricing calculated?
For tours and hourly bookings: a flat hourly rate by vehicle, with a typical 3-hour minimum for stretch limousines and Sprinters. For airport transfers: flat per-trip pricing by route. For weddings and special events: a custom flat package. No hidden fees.
Is gratuity included?
Gratuity is optional and not included: tip your chauffeur directly, or call dispatch and we'll add it to your card. The industry-standard tip is 18-20% of the trip cost.
What forms of payment do you accept?
All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) through our secure Limo Anywhere booking system. For corporate accounts we also offer net-30 invoicing. Cash is accepted for gratuity but not for the base trip charge.
Do you charge surge pricing?
No. Smart Limo Rental never uses surge pricing. The rate quoted at booking is the rate you pay, even during cherry blossom season, prom weekend, or holiday rushes. This is a key reason corporate and wedding clients book us instead of rideshare.
Vehicles & Drivers
What vehicles are in your fleet?
Executive Town Car sedan (Mercedes-Benz or Lincoln Town Car), Executive SUV (Cadillac Escalade or Chevrolet Suburban), stretch limousine, Mercedes Sprinter van, executive mini bus (22 to 32 passengers), Hummer limo, and luxury motor coach. Who are your chauffeurs?
Our chauffeurs are professional career drivers, not gig contractors. Most have driven for us 5 or more years, part of a company with 20+ years on DC-metro roads, and they complete defensive-driving and customer-service training. They know the city: the shortcuts, the parking, and the timing.
Are vehicles non-smoking?
All Smart Limo Rental vehicles are 100% non-smoking and non-vaping. A cleaning fee applies if this policy is violated. Open alcohol is permitted in stretch limousines and Sprinters for adult passengers when no minors are present, in compliance with DC, MD, and VA law.
Do you offer car seats for children?
Yes. We provide forward-facing and booster car seats on request at no charge. Mention you need one when booking and confirm 24 hours ahead so the chauffeur arrives prepared. Rear-facing infant seats are also available with advance notice.
Are your vehicles wheelchair accessible?
Our standard fleet is not wheelchair-accessible. We can arrange a wheelchair-accessible Sprinter through a partner operator with 48+ hours' notice. Please call to discuss specific accessibility needs.
