Arlington County is the closest major jurisdiction to DCA Airport, and that single fact drives a disproportionate share of its limo service demand. Crystal City is 5 minutes from the terminal in light traffic. Pentagon City is 7. Rosslyn, the northern end of Arlington, runs about 12 minutes. No neighborhood in DC proper can match those times.
Arlington covers a lot of distinct sub-areas with different booking patterns. Crystal City (now officially National Landing after Amazon’s HQ2 move) is dense with hotels and government contractors. Pentagon City has the Fashion Centre mall and another hotel cluster. Rosslyn faces Georgetown across the Key Bridge, with a mix of corporate offices and the start of the GW Parkway. Ballston and Clarendon are further west along the Orange and Silver lines, more residential and restaurant-heavy. Each has different routing realities.
Crystal City and National Landing
Amazon chose Crystal City for HQ2, and that decision reshaped the weekday morning demand curve here. Executive arrivals at DCA now route directly to National Landing office buildings on South Eads Street and Clark Street. The hotel cluster (Crystal Gateway Marriott, Hyatt Regency Crystal City, Westin Crystal City, Renaissance Arlington Capital View) is tightly grouped within four blocks of the Metro station. Multi-hotel conference pickups are straightforward in this footprint.
The Pentagon is 3 minutes east of Crystal City on I-395. Pentagon pickups require staging at the right vehicle access point — there are several, and the correct one depends on the visitor’s destination inside the building. Our chauffeurs have that sorted.
Rosslyn and the cross-Potomac run
Rosslyn sits at the Virginia end of the Key Bridge and the Roosevelt Bridge. The Le Meridien Arlington is the anchor hotel here. A Rosslyn-to-Georgetown run is 5 minutes across the bridge; a Rosslyn-to-downtown-DC run is 10 to 15 minutes depending on bridge traffic. The cross-Potomac shuttle is one of the more common hourly bookings from Rosslyn: a client staying at the hotel who needs a car for the day as they move between Virginia and DC meetings.
The GW Parkway southbound from Rosslyn to Alexandria is one of the nicer drives in the metro area. It’s also the right choice for DCA-bound traffic when I-395 is locked — chauffeurs know to check both options.
Ballston and Clarendon
Further west, Ballston has the Ballston Quarter development and a cluster of defense and tech offices around the Ballston Metro. Clarendon is primarily residential with a restaurant strip along Clarendon Boulevard. Dinner pickups here tend to be for DC-based clients who’ve come out to Northern Virginia for the evening, wanting a car back rather than driving.
Airport connections from Arlington
DCA: 5 to 12 minutes depending on the sub-neighborhood. That’s the whole reason many DC-area visitors choose Arlington hotels in the first place. IAD is 25 to 30 minutes via the Dulles Toll Road or Route 50. BWI is 35 to 40 minutes via I-95 north.
For early DCA departures, the terminal experience matters as much as drive time. DCA Terminal 2 handles most domestic carriers. Terminal 1 is primarily American (regional). The meet-and-greet for arrivals is at baggage claim, not the curb.
