Your wedding day is one of a handful of days in your life that you’ll remember in detail forever. Smart Limo Rental shows up for it.

DC weddings run across a wide range of venues and neighborhoods. Outdoor ceremonies at Tudor Place in Georgetown and Meridian House on 16th Street need a vehicle that can hold at a specific gate time. Cathedral and synagogue ceremonies on Wisconsin Avenue have strict drop-off windows and no street parking. Reception venues at the Mandarin Oriental, the Willard, or the National Building Museum each have their own staging logistics. The chauffeur handles all of that so the couple and the planner don’t have to.

Wedding services

  • DC Wedding Limousine: bride and groom transport, photo limo, send-off
  • Wedding guest shuttle: hotel to venue and back, in a stretch limo, mini bus, or coach
  • Prom Limo DC: Hummer or stretch for prom night
  • Anniversary transportation: the same level of service as the wedding day, just smaller scale
  • Rehearsal dinner transport: getting the wedding party from the hotel to the venue the night before

How a wedding day runs

A typical Smart Limo wedding booking looks like this:

  1. Morning. The bridal party vehicle picks up from the salon or hotel 90 minutes before the ceremony. There’s time for champagne flutes, final preparations, and a relaxed arrival.
  2. Ceremony. The chauffeur pulls to the front entrance on cue, red carpet rolled, Just-Married signage in place if requested.
  3. Photo window. After the ceremony, the couple and bridal party have a window for monument photos: the Lincoln Memorial steps, the Tidal Basin, the Mall. The chauffeur holds the vehicle as long as needed.
  4. Reception. Transfer to the reception venue, coordinated with the guest shuttle if one is running.
  5. Send-off. End-of-night pickup for the couple, delivered to the hotel or after-party.

For multi-vehicle weddings, all pickups are coordinated from a single dispatch desk. One call, one contact, synchronized timing across the bridal limo, the parents’ SUV, and the guest shuttle coach.

What the chauffeur handles

The chauffeur plans for DC traffic and arrives 15 minutes early. A full wedding day typically covers pickup, ceremony, monument photos, reception, and send-off. Just-Married signage on the rear window is available on request, as is a red carpet at the venue. The chauffeur will pose for photos or stay out of frame, whichever the couple prefers.

Some things that often catch couples off guard: Georgetown and Adams Morgan have narrow streets that limit vehicle size. The National Cathedral has a specific load zone on Wisconsin Avenue. The Jefferson Memorial and Lincoln Memorial have no private vehicle access to the plaza, so photo stops work from the parking areas nearby. A chauffeur who has run these routes many times knows all of this before the day starts.

Common questions about DC wedding transportation

What’s included in a DC wedding limo package? On-time arrival (15 minutes early), chauffeur in formal attire, red carpet rollout, Just-Married signage, champagne flutes and ice for the couple’s toast, photo waits at monuments, and extras like ribbon and tissues stocked in the cabin.

Do you handle multi-vehicle wedding parties? Yes. Multi-vehicle coordination is most of what we do on a Saturday in May. One dispatch desk handles the bridal limo, the parents’ SUV, any Sprinters for the photographer or videographer team, and the guest shuttle coach. One invoice, one contact for the planner, synchronized pickup times.

How long do you reserve the limo for a wedding? Most couples book 8 to 10 hours. That covers hair-and-makeup pickup through the reception send-off with time for photos. A 4-hour minimum applies, but anything under 8 hours on a full wedding day tends to create schedule pressure. We’ll tell you honestly if your timeline looks tight.

Do you require a deposit for wedding bookings? Yes. Wedding bookings require a deposit to hold the date and vehicle. The balance is due before the day of. Call (202) 609-9811 or email info@smartlimorental.com to get the process started.

Can you do photo stops between ceremony and reception? Yes, and most couples use this window. The Lincoln Memorial, the Tidal Basin, the steps of the Jefferson Memorial, and the National Mall are all standard stops. The chauffeur holds the vehicle at each location as long as you need. There’s no clock-watching and no charge for the wait time.

See the dc wedding limo page for bridal-party logistics and vehicle details, and prom limo dc for spring prom bookings. All bookable via the same dispatch desk.
