The Luxury Coach Bus is for groups too big for anything else in the fleet. 55 reclining seats, an onboard restroom, drop-down screens, and a full luggage hold underneath. When 40 to 55 people need to move together, this is the vehicle.
What is on board
55 reclining seats with footrests, an onboard restroom (required and practical on any trip over 2 hours), full climate control with individual vents, a PA system, and drop-down monitors. There are USB charging ports at every seat, with WiFi where coverage allows. Luggage rides in the under-floor hold. The coach is non-smoking, like all our vehicles, and runs on a fixed service schedule.
When the coach is the right call
Wedding guest shuttles for a full hotel block of 40 to 55, corporate retreats, school field trips, multi-day tours to Gettysburg or Williamsburg, and church or community outings. The best vehicle for a 12-person group is not the coach; that group fits the Mercedes Sprinter or a stretch limo, and the coach only makes sense once you pass about 25 people.
Which vehicle fits your group
The coach is the top of the range. Smaller groups have closer fits:
- A couple or solo traveler: the luxury sedan, which compares with the usual luxury sedan brands and models.
- Four to six with luggage: the executive SUV.
- Eight to ten dressed up: the stretch limo in Washington DC.
- Twelve or thirteen: the Mercedes Sprinter. For a party bus feel, groups ask about the white Hummer limo.
- Thirty to fifty-five: the luxury coach bus.
The full DC limo fleet books through one dispatch desk, so a big event can mix the coach with smaller cars for the VIPs.
What it costs
The luxury coach bus is $222 an hour with a 4-hour minimum, so a 4-hour charter starts at $890. Multi-day trips are quoted per route. The pricing page lists every vehicle, including the coach bus rental rate in DC and the Hummer limo cost per hour.
Common questions
Are the vehicles non-smoking? Yes, all of them. Do they have charging and WiFi? Every seat has USB charging ports, with WiFi where coverage allows. Is there a restroom on board? Yes. What is the best vehicle for a 12-person group? Not the coach; book the Sprinter or the stretch limo and call us if the group grows.
Multi-day and out-of-DC routes
The coach handles trips well beyond the Beltway. Gettysburg is about 80 miles from downtown DC, roughly a 90-minute drive depending on traffic on I-70. Williamsburg is 150 miles. Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown can be done as a long day trip or as part of a two-day itinerary. The under-floor hold carries luggage for overnight trips, and the on-board restroom means no roadside stops required.
For Washington DC itself, the coach parks at designated charter bus lots near the Mall (the one near the Capitol Reflecting Pool on First Street is the main one). The chauffeur handles the logistics of where to stage, which matters for groups with timed entry passes to the Capitol Visitor Center or the Smithsonian.
Conference and corporate use
A lot of the coach bookings are conference shuttles, running from a hotel block to a convention center and back on a fixed schedule. The PA system means the conference coordinator can update the group without walking the aisle. Drop-down monitors carry presentations or agenda slides if needed. For corporate retreats outside the city, the coach keeps the whole group together for the ride, which tends to be more useful than most people expect.
Common questions
Does the coach have Wi-Fi on the highway? The coach has Wi-Fi where coverage allows. On I-95 south toward Richmond, coverage varies by stretch. Is there a minimum booking? Yes, 4 hours. For a straight transfer (hotel to venue, one way), we quote a flat rate instead. What is the difference between the coach and the executive mini bus? The executive mini bus seats 22 to 32 and fits better in city blocks; the coach holds 55 and is the right call for full hotel-block shuttles. Is there a restroom? Yes, standard on the full coach.
