This is our standard itinerary, in the order the chauffeur drives it, and it is fully customizable: add a stop, skip one, linger longer, or swap the order, just by telling your chauffeur. Stops are where you get out for photos and to walk up; the drive-by highlights are landmarks the route passes along the way.
Tap any stop for the details.
The home of the Senate and the House. The chauffeur circles the East Front and the West Front inauguration steps for photos before the route heads down the Mall.
Photo stop at the President's residence, with north and south facade views from Pennsylvania Avenue and E Street.
The domed District of Columbia War Memorial, a quiet marble tribute set among the Mall's trees and often missed on bus tours.
The Rainbow Pool ringed by 56 granite pillars and two arches, honoring the WWII generation. A powerful place to pay respects.
The 555-foot marble obelisk at the center of the Mall. Prime open ground for photos in every direction.
A domed rotunda on the Tidal Basin with a 19-foot bronze Jefferson and the words of the Declaration carved into the walls.
Four open-air granite rooms with cascading waterfalls and statues, one for each of FDR’s terms. One of the most distinctive memorials in the city.
The Stone of Hope rising from the Tidal Basin shore, ringed by the civil rights icon’s own words. Quietly moving in any season.
Nineteen stainless-steel soldiers advancing through the field, striking by day and haunting at dusk. A solemn tribute often overlooked.
The black granite Wall etched with more than 58,000 names. The most affecting stop on the route for many visitors.
The marble chamber and the 19-foot seated Lincoln at the head of the Reflecting Pool. Dramatic by day, and the columns stand out sharply once the floodlights come up.
Between the stops above, your chauffeur points out the landmarks that make up official Washington. No extra time, no extra cost, just part of the drive.

Good value for a large group
For 10 people (4 adult and 6 kids/teens), this was a great alternative to the other night tours. We even got to see some of the less known memorials at the Pentagon! Very friendly and helpful driver.

The driver was super knowledgeable about the different monuments and allowed us to experience them in whatever order we wanted stopping at different ones for us to take pictures and explore along the route. Extremely worth it for my family and I.

We were picked up at our hotel and the driver was super friendly. The limo driver took some pictures and made a personalized video using one of our cell phones of our group before and after we entered the limo. The day we toured DC it was going to be 100° F. Rather than ride a bus, bike, or other means, we took the limo which was air conditioned and the driver dropped us next to each site in the tour and pick us up either in the same spot as the drop off or close by as we left each site. In the limo there was free water bottle and ice with cups, which was refreshing on a hot day. We could choose the music we wanted to listen to through a cell phone the limo driver provided. There were some times the music was a bit loud, but either through the cell phone or a control in the car, the volume can be adjusted. It was also fun to watch people outside the limo as they were taking pictures of our vehicle (the hummer limo) just was much as some of the sites. If you are planning a tour of DC, I would recommend taking the personalized limo tour for comfort and you can choose how long you staying at each site and where to go. This is the way to go! We had 7 people in the limo and had lots of extra room for more people.★★★★★

Each of us has different interests, so we want to spend time on each subject differently in the places we visit. In fact, this can sometimes change depending on how tired or hungry we are during the tour, so we always prefer a private tour as a family. And we should not forget that it is very cool to tour the capital in a latest model Cadillac. Isn't it good to pamper ourselves a little once in a while? In my opinion, the most beneficial thing about a private tour is that it gives us the flexibility of how we really want to spend our time at that moment, we do not have to wait for anyone, we do not have to waste time in a place or subject we are not interested in, we can be more flexible in the places we are interested in and do not spend more time, especially the city that helps us here. and when it comes to polite people who know us well, they accompany us in their work. That's exactly the experience we had. We would like to thank the gentleman who showed us around the city and the organization company. It was a very professional and caring tour. I hope everyone will enjoy it. Hüseyin Yıldız★★★★★

Our family (which includes 2 kids and 3 elderly) was visiting DC during Spring break and wanting to hit all of the tourist spots. Our driver (Khalid) was punctual and attentive to our needs. He asked what are the must sees. Since we are here during the beginning of the cherry blossom season, we wanted to make sure we get to see them along with all of the monuments. He made stops for us to take pictures and made sure we do not have to walk too much since we have elderly and little ones. It was very fun for everyone to ride in the limo too and see all the attention we get on the roads. It was a great experience and headache-free for us to not have to plan our routes and find parking etc.★★★★★

We had a great time! Our driver, Gligor was very knowledgeable and showed us all the highlights! My kids say it was their favorite part of our DC trip.

He was able give us the history of the city, stopped at all major monuments and took pictures for us at all stops. It was raining very hard but he had umbrellas ready, let us know the walk time to certain up close views to make sure we were prepared (all were short walks less than 5 mins and nothing hard to get to just not able to drive the limo all the way up to some which was totally understandable) but also made stops if needed (bathroom and quick food pick ups). We were out for a full four hours which left time to just drive around and see the city and enjoy the limo. I would highly recommend this tour even if you’ve been to DC and seen the sites in the past as it was super fun and the limo was very comfortable (we had 7 total people with plenty of room)! Thank you for a GREAT experience!★★★★★

I highly recommend seeing the capital this way, especially if you have limited time. Amir greeted us warmly and told us we were his family for the morning. Great way to see Washington with children. They were great helping us organization our day to see a great deal of our planed destinations. We could not have covered AS much teritoriy without their help. I highly recommend them and this method of travel. It is hastle free.
A Washington DC family tour with Smart Limo is a private 4-hour tour shaped around your kids. A career chauffeur who knows DC plans the route, picks the whole family up at your hotel, drives the monuments circuit, and narrates each stop as you go, so the parents never touch a map, a parking meter, or a Metro turnstile. You see the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, and the Tidal Basin, with the freedom to stretch a stop the kids love and shorten one they have had enough of. The vehicle is your home base all day: car seats fit, strollers ride in the back, and snacks are welcome.
This is the same monuments route our first-time visitors take, with the pacing turned over to your family. Little legs set the rhythm. When the kids need a break, the chauffeur builds one in. When they want to run around the Washington Monument grounds, you stay as long as they like. Between stops everyone rides in a cool, comfortable cabin instead of waiting at a hot bus stop with forty strangers. Grandparents fold in easily too: three-generation groups from 8 to 80 share this route all the time, and whoever wants a rest simply waits in the car while the walkers explore.
The best DC tour for kids is private and flexible. A shared bus runs on a fixed clock that ignores naps, restroom breaks, and short attention spans. A private chauffeur tour runs on your family’s clock: you set the pace, skip a stop, add a snack break, and linger where the kids are having fun, all just by asking.
That flexibility is what makes a private tour work for families. The chauffeur handles the driving, the parking, the directions, and the narration, so parents are free to be present with their kids instead of navigating a strange city. The monuments come with built-in kid appeal: the 555-foot Washington Monument, the open lawns of the Mall to burn off energy, and the dramatic Lincoln Memorial steps. The day covers the famous landmarks plus the stops kids actually remember: the World War II Memorial fountains, the FDR Memorial waterfalls, and, if they want it, a stop at Air and Space.
The chauffeur narrates each landmark with the kind of details kids latch onto, the tallest stone monument in the world, the names carved into the Vietnam wall, the cascading waterfalls at the FDR Memorial, while you drive between stops. Open spaces at the Washington Monument and the Mall give children room to move at every stop.
Engagement comes from movement and short, frequent stops rather than a long lecture. Because the tour is private, you never have to keep a restless child quiet on a packed bus or rush them past something they find fascinating. If your kids are captivated by the World War II Memorial fountains, you stay. If a memorial is not holding their attention, you move on early. The chauffeur reads the group and keeps the day flowing, and the comfortable cabin between stops is a welcome reset for younger children.
Yes. Strollers ride in the vehicle and are easy to fold in and out at each stop. Child seats and boosters are available on request, subject to availability on your date, so let us know your children’s ages when you book and dispatch confirms what can be reserved; your own seats are always welcome. Snacks and drinks for the kids are welcome aboard.
A private vehicle is far more practical for young families than public transport or a tour bus. There is no folding a stroller onto a crowded Metro car, no hauling gear between stops, and no carrying a tired toddler back to a distant bus. The vehicle stays with you all day as a comfortable base: leave the stroller, the diaper bag, and the spare layers in the car, and pick up only what you need at each stop. The roomy Executive SUV (up to 6) and Mercedes Sprinter (up to 13) easily hold a family plus all the gear.
The most kid-friendly stops are the Washington Monument (open grounds to run around), the Lincoln Memorial (dramatic steps and statue), and the World War II Memorial (fountains and state pillars). The Tidal Basin memorials, Jefferson, FDR, and MLK, give a scenic, easy walk. The chauffeur drops close to each one so the walks stay short.
You can run the full 11-stop monuments circuit or focus on the handful that resonate most with younger children. The open lawns of the National Mall between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial are the family favorite: room to move, big skies for photos, and the city’s most recognizable views in one place. Older kids tend to connect with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall and the Korean War Veterans Memorial statues. The route is yours to shape, and we can tailor your DC route around your children’s ages and interests before the day.
The private DC family tour runs about 4 hours on a 4-hour minimum, with the Executive SUV the most booked family choice. The price covers the vehicle, a professional chauffeur, fuel, and parking; the rates by vehicle are in the Pricing section below.
Four hours is a comfortable length for most families: enough to see the headline monuments without pushing past the point where younger children fade. If you have a full day and want to add the Virginia side and a real lunch stop, the full-day DC tour extends the route to Arlington National Cemetery, the Iwo Jima Memorial, and Georgetown.
Starting at $440 for a private tour in the executive sedan (up to 3 guests), with a 4-hour minimum. The Executive SUV is $480 for 4 hours (up to 6 guests). Mercedes Sprinter at $560 (up to 13 guests) for larger families. Book online or call (202) 609-9811.
Browse the full DC tour packages hub, or compare with the Welcome to DC half-day tour and the DC Monuments Tour. Traveling with older relatives too? The DC senior tour frames the same route around comfort. Want a specific focus? We can tailor your DC route.
Call (202) 609-9811 or book online. Talk to an expert, 24/7. We will confirm the vehicle, the child seats, the pickup time, and any stops your kids especially want before your visit.
A private one. A shared bus runs on a fixed clock that ignores naps, snack breaks and short attention spans; on this 4-hour chauffeured tour your family sets the pace, skips a stop, lingers where the kids are having fun and rides between monuments in a cool, quiet vehicle. The chauffeur handles everything else.
Very much. The monuments are free, open-air and full of things children latch onto: the tallest stone monument in the world, the names on the Vietnam Wall, the waterfalls at the FDR Memorial, the giant seated Lincoln. Done by private car, a family sees all of it in one morning without a single Metro transfer.
Any age works because the tour bends to your children. Toddlers nap in the car between stops; school-age kids get the stories and the open lawns at the Washington Monument; teenagers respond to the Vietnam Wall and the Lincoln steps. Multi-generation groups with grandparents take this tour every week.
From $440 for 4 hours in the Executive Sedan for up to 3 guests, or $480 in the Executive SUV for up to 6, the most booked family choice. Larger families ride together in the Mercedes Sprinter at $560 for up to 13. Tours bill a 4-hour minimum, and children count as guests for seating.
Car seats and boosters are available on request, subject to availability on your date. Tell us your children's ages when you book and dispatch confirms what can be reserved for that day. You are always welcome to bring your own; children travel more settled in seats they know.
Yes. Snacks and drinks for the children are welcome aboard, and the climate-controlled cabin is the family's home base between stops, which is where tired legs recover. We only ask that you leave the vehicle as you found it. Bottled water is always on board.
